The painting composition consists of five figures. The figures to the right and left of the center are in peaceful sleep, it can be seen from their portraits and body positions. In repose, dynamics are created by the movements of the figures directed towards the central figure. The central figure is distinguished by its immobility, as if she is frozen.
The portrait is blurred, showing open eyes. The artist tried to get the impression that he woke up, but not completely. There is tension in the gaze and posture, fear and anxiety caused by the inability to move.
The artist assimilated the figures into the environment, made them more transparent, and thanks to this got a dreamy, ethereal effect.
Thanks to the white and pink in the picture, the feeling of anxiety is softened.
The cat and the socks have created a familiar environment: the man is in his bed.
Thanks to the sheet, the figures were connected, the composition was assembled, it was obtained
impression as if the figures are swimming.
Despite the multitude of figures, a man alone in his room tries to fight his problem face to face. Regardless of the fear and anxiety in the picture, the person is in his own environment.
